Terms of Service

Last updated May 2026

Welcome to velvv. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully.

Eligibility

You must be 18 years or older to use velvv. By using the app you confirm that you meet this requirement and that the information you provide is accurate.

Your account

You are responsible for your account and for keeping access to it secure. One person, one account. Don't impersonate anyone or misrepresent who you are.

Acceptable use

  • Be respectful. Harassment, hate speech, threats and unsolicited explicit content are not allowed.
  • No spam, scams, solicitation or commercial promotion without our permission.
  • No content involving minors, violence, or anything illegal.
  • Don't try to screenshot or record chats, one-time photos or calls. We block it, and the other person is told.

Content

You own the content you post. When you post, you give velvv permission to store and show it inside the app so everything works. You're responsible for what you share and the messages you send.

Safety

velvv helps you meet real people, but we cannot verify everyone or guarantee anyone's conduct. Always meet in public, tell a friend, and trust your instincts. Report anyone who makes you uncomfortable.

Memberships & payments

velvv is free to start. Paid memberships unlock extra features, and you're charged on the cycle shown when you buy. Prices are in Nigerian Naira (₦) and may change; we'll let you know first. You can cancel anytime, and you keep access until the end of the period you've paid for.

Velvv Business accounts

If you're signing up to put a business on velvv — a venue, brand, store, service, hotel, fashion line, beauty studio, dealership, anything customers might book or buy — these extra rules apply.

  • You represent the business. Sign up as someone with authority to list it. Names, addresses, photos and offers must be honest.
  • Listings live on velvv. Approved business listings appear inside the app — on the Places map, in Explore, and where the audience is browsing. We may decline or remove listings that mislead, infringe, or break local laws.
  • Bookings & payments. Bookings made through velvv are agreements between you and the customer. Where payments flow through Velvv Business (via Paystack or Flutterwave), money lands in your Earnings wallet and pays out to a bank account you nominate. You're responsible for tax, refunds, and fulfilling what the customer paid for.
  • Velvv Business Ads. Ad campaigns are wallet-funded and reviewed before going live. Misleading claims, illegal goods or services, or creative we wouldn't want next to people on a night out — declined. The fee for the placement is non-refundable once an ad has run.
  • Wallets. Your Ad-spend wallet funds campaigns; your Earnings wallet receives confirmed-booking revenue. Top-ups via Paystack/Flutterwave are subject to those providers' fees. Velvv may hold funds briefly for fraud or chargeback review.
  • The verified mark. The blue verified check is a trust signal we award after review. It can be revoked if a business stops meeting our standards.
  • Suspension. We may pause or remove a business account that misleads customers, fails to fulfil bookings, runs prohibited promotions, or otherwise breaches these terms.

The full Velvv Business product lives at velvv.com/business.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or put other people at risk. You can delete your account at any time from Settings.

Changes

We may update these terms as the product evolves. We'll let you know about material changes in the app.
